Ontario County Changes Mask Protocols in Response to New CDC and NYS Guidance


Canandaigua, NY – May 19, 2021    County Administrator Christopher DeBolt today announced that the county is adopting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and New York State’s most recent guidance on face coverings and social distancing. Beginning today, May 19, fully vaccinated individuals will no longer be required to wear face masks or practice social distancing while visiting county facilities.  

 

“The new face-covering guidelines from the CDC and New York State are a clear sign that we have made significant progress in our fight against COVID-19 and that we have taken a large step toward returning to normal, said DeBolt. “We are asking Individuals not fully vaccinated and those with suppressed immune systems to continue wearing masks and practicing social distancing,” said DeBolt.  

 

Canandaigua Department of Motor Vehicles   

County Clerk Matt Hoose noted that the Canandaigua office of the Department of Motor Vehicles, located on the Ontario County campus at 20 Ontario Street, is expected to resume normal business operations within the coming weeks.  Until then, the office is open to Ontario County residents only for license/permit transactions with no appointment required.  Additionally, the DMV will continue to process registration and license plate transactions for Ontario County residents only though a drop box located outside the main doors of the DMV office. Instructions, forms, and envelopes are available at the drop box.
