  NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED LOCAL LAW OF ONTARIO COUNTY NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Board of Supervisors of Ontario County at the interim location, 3019 County Complex Drive, Room 204, Canandaigua, New York, on the 20th day of August, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. concerning proposed Local Law No. 4  (Intro.) of 2020, entitled "The Ontario County Room Occupancy Tax Law”, which provides:

The intent of this local law shall be to continue the Ontario County Room Tax for Three (3) Years, imposing a tax on facilities providing lodging on an overnight basis and provide for the collection thereof in order to make funds available for the official tourism promotion agency as designated by the County. 

            The effective date of this local law is September 1, 2020.

At such time and place all persons interested in the subject matter thereof will be heard concerning the same.

PUBLIC NOTICE

Notice of a 45-day Period for Public Review of Ontario County Agricultural District 1 and Intent to Consolidate Ontario County Agricultural District 1, 6, 8, and 9.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, That Agricultural District Number One located in the Towns of Bristol, Canadice, Canandaigua, East Bloomfield, Farmington, Hopewell, Manchester, Richmond, Victor, West Bloomfield, City of Canandaigua, & Village of Bloomfield, in the County of Ontario and containing 81,726 acres, was established in 1972, and was last reviewed in 2012 pursuant to Article 25AA 303-a. of the Agricultural and Markets Law.


PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, That under said Law, the Ontario County Board of Supervisors (Board) is required to conduct a review of Agricultural District 1 every eight years and said review is due in 2020.

 PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, That Article 25 AA Sec.303-c.of the New York State Agriculture and Markets law allows consolidation of existing agricultural districts into a district that is under 

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, That Ontario County seeks to streamline the review process and simplify record keeping for landowners who own farmland in different districts and proposes to consolidate Agricultural Districts 1, 6, 8, and 9 into a district to be known as Consolidated Agricultural District 1.

 PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, That in accordance with Article 25 AA §303-a. of the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law, the Board of Supervisors pursuant to Resolution No. 334-2020 has establish a forty-five (45) day period beginning on July 1, 2020 and ending on August 15, 2020 within which any Ontario County landowner or municipality may propose to the Board a modification to an Ontario County Agricultural District

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, That such proposed modification shall be submitted in writing to Kristin Mueller, Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, 20 Ontario St., Canandaigua, NY 14424 in person or post marked by August 15, 2020 in a manner that is specified on a form available at the county website: https://www.co.ontario.ny.us/1607/Agricultural-Districts.

PUBLIC NOTICE

Notice of the 2020 annual period for landowner to request inclusion in an Ontario County Agricultural District.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, In accordance with Article 25 AA §303-b. of the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law, this Board of Supervisors (Board) is required to establish an annual thirty (30) day period within which a landowner may submit to the Board of Supervisors a request to add viable agricultural land within a certified agricultural district.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, That pursuant to Board Resolution No. 335-2020 the Board has established a forty-five (45) day annual enrollment period beginning July 1 and ending on August 15, 2020 to allow landowners additional time to submit their requests.  

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, Such requests shall include a description of such land and its current or proposed agricultural use, its tax map identification number and address, and signature of the landowner and be submitted in writing to Kristin Mueller, Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, 20 Ontario St., Canandaigua, NY 14424 in person, or post marked by August 15, 2020 in a manner that is specified on a form available at the county website: https://www.co.ontario.ny.us/1607/Agricultural-Districts.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, That the 2020 annual enrollment period is being conducted at the same time as the review period for Agricultural District 1 which also gives landowners the opportunity to add land to a district.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, That landowners are only required to submit one request to add a parcel to the district using the form available from the Clerk of the Board or available at the above-mentioned website.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, That information on the Ontario County Agricultural District program is available on the county website listed above and any questions may be submitted to Maria Rudzinski, Senior Planner, Ontario County Planning Department at maria.rudzinski@co.ontario.ny.us or by calling 585-396-4416.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, That at the termination of the 45 day period, the proposed parcels for inclusions will be submitted to the Ontario County Agriculture Enhancement Board for review and subsequent recommendation to the Ontario County Board of Supervisors who will make the final recommendation to the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets.
