Emergency Response Team Training

The Ontario County Emergency Response Team (ERT) is an extra-duty, volunteer group of dedicated law enforcement professionals.  

ERT members must be full-time police officers who have at least 2 years of road patrol experience. They must pass testing in firearms proficiency, physical endurance, and be of sound mind. 

The ERT is trained and used in the areas of Hostage rescue, Barricaded subjects, High-risk warrant execution, VIPEmergency Response Team Training

protection and other high risk law enforcement areas. 

Members of the ERT are pulled from the ranks of the Ontario County Sheriff's Office, the Canandaigua Police Department and the Clifton Springs Police Department.
