Where can I obtain a copy of a Birth Certificate?
The Government of the County of Ontario does not maintain birth certificates. They are kept on a local level and the New York State Department Health. Your chances are better if you go to your local town or city clerk. If you were born at Thompson Hospital, your birth certificate should be at the Canandaigua City Clerk's Office, Geneva - at the Geneva City Clerk, etc. If you do want to try New York State, and wait 6 to 12 months, you can go to the New York State website and find the Department of Health there for more information.
