This free, six-week program is for those who suffer from long-term health concerns or care for someone who does, as well as those who want to learn how to feel more in control of their own health. Developed by Stanford University, the lessons over the course of the six sessions will cover:
1) Techniques to manage symptoms including anxiety, stress, depression, fatigue, pain, frustration, limitations and more.
2) How to start eating and exercising to improve your health.
3) Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
4) How to create an "action plan" for a healthier life.

This group, facilitated by Linda Rowsick, RD, CD-N, is for people who are considering or preparing for bariatric surgery, as well as for those who have had bariatric surgery. Also welcome are those who struggle with issues concerning their weight. This month, the group is having a "recipe swap," so bring your favorite. For information, call 585-396-6285.
