Ontario County Clerk Limiting Service to Essential Business Only

DUE TO CORONAVIRUS CONCERNS

ONTARIO COUNTY CLERK, MATTHEW HOOSE HAS IMPLEMENTED THE FOLLOWING CHANGES TO THE COUNTY CLERK’S OFFICE

 

Effective immediately the Ontario County Clerk’s Office, located at 20 Ontario Street in Canandaigua will be discontinuing several services until further notice.  Services will be limited to essential and/or time-sensitive business only.

  • Until Further Notice, the following in-person services will be suspended:
  • All Pistol Permit transactions, to include applications and amendments.  The only exception will be a change of address amendments, but please call first.
  • Passport Application Acceptance and Photo’s
  • Veteran Identification Cards
  • Notary Renewals (will be accepted by mail only)
  • DBA Filings (Doing Business As) (will be accepted by mail only)

The office will maintain our normal business hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday but will be closed to the public from 12:30pm to 1:30pm each day.

We ask that you please call (585) 396-4200, before you come to the office, many types of requests can be fulfilled via email, fax or mail.

If you do have to come to the office please understand that we will be operating with a reduced staff.  If there are people at the counter when you arrive, please wait to enter the office until they have left.
