Runners of all ages are invited to participate in this 5K. The certified course, with computerized race results, starts and finishes at Crosswinds. Packet pick up is the day of the race, from 7 to 8:15am. Awards will be given to top three finishers in each age group at a 10am ceremony, and post-race refreshments will be provided. Proceeds benefit the Patient Special Needs Fund of the Wilmot Cancer Institute's Sands Cancer Center on the Thompson Health campus in Canandaigua. This fund is used to help cancer patients pay for supplies and procedures that are not covered by health insurance: thus improving their quality of life. F.A.I.R. an acronym for Fundamentals of Alcohol Intoxication Recognition is a critically acclaimed program designed to teach persons who sell or serve alcoholic beverages how to recognize intoxicated persons. This public service presentation, delivered by members of the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, is designed to teach those in the food and beverage industry how to recognize an intoxicated person, legal issues servers and bar owners may face if and when they serve an intoxicated person and how to identify and report fraudulent identification.
The Sheriff's Office is offering FAIR training free of charge on the second Saturday of each month.

This new group has formed out of the need for honesty and support amongst mothers struggling with a mood and/or anxiety disorder that occurs during pregnancy, or after the birth of a new baby. This includes mothers struggling with depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Facilitated by Maureen Kellogg of Thompson's Social Work Department, Thompson Health Lactation Consultant/RN Courtney Phillips and a volunteer from the community, the group will offer moms a "safe space" to be transparent about motherhood, mental health, and all the little things in between, providing opportunities to talk with others who have been through or are currently walking through this same season of life.
