Answering the Workforce Challenge! Finger Lakes Skills2Compete is a campaign sponsored by a variety of partners, including the Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Board, to create an awareness of the Finger Lakes' Middle Skills jobs and how to prepare workers to break into these high demand occupations.
The resource room is a self-directed service for people able to conduct their own job search. Computers with Internet access and laser printers are available for job searching. We also have Microsoft Office tutorials, a fax machine, telephone and hard copies of job hunting resources available. Staff assistance is limited; however, more comprehensive services are available at the Finger Lakes Works Geneva One-Stop Center located at:
70 Elizabeth Blackwell St.
Geneva, NY 14456
The office is part of the Ontario County Department of Social Services and operates their employment programs. These programs provide employment-related activities and services to public assistance recipients with the goal of gaining employment.
In partnership with the Finger Lakes Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act and other area agencies, this program provides a wide variety of activities to assist adults and dislocated workers through core, intensive, and training services.
